The “European Seaweed Production and Marketability” joint workshop is a world first, bringing together five EU projects: AT~SEA, EnAlgae, iDREEM, SeaBioPlas and Atlantic Blue Tech, in conjunction with the GlobalSeaweed network and the Biomarine International Clusters Association (BICA).
It will be held on 13-14 May 2015, hosted by SAMS, at Argyll, Oban, Scotland.
It promises a challenging discussion around the industry practices in the European seaweed-based value chain, towards the marketability of seaweed-derived products and services. The event will be a combination of invited talks and open panel discussions, on the first day. On the second day, building from those discussions, a facilitated industry-focused workshop will debate and provide recommendations on the regulatory frameworks which impact this business sector. The programme includes a social event and a visit to a local seaweed farm.
